Pitt County, N.C. offers rabies clinics in April

April weekends in Pitt County, N.C. are set for rabies clinics that offer the required vaccination at low cost.

‘Tis the season for rabies clinics in many municipalities, and Pitt County in North Carolina is no exception. A rabies clinic will be held April 17 at the town of Grimesland Fire Department.

On April 23 and 24, veterinarians across Pitt County will offer rabies vaccinations at their clinics at fixed prices: $5 for pets, $10 for livestock. Call your veterinarian ahead of time for times.

Be sure to bring all your pet’s information with you to the clinic. And, I’m sure you know this already, but make sure your pet is on a leash or in a carrier when you go to either the rabies clinic or the vet’s office.

Additional pet information for Pitt County residents can be found at the Greenville Daily Reflector.

Massachusetts sets dates for rabies clinics

The state of Massachusetts has released a list of dates and locations for its 2010 rabies vaccination clinics. These scheduled clinics allow dog and cat owners to affordably update their pets’ rabies shots, which are required annually by the state.

The list can be found online here: http://www.mass.gov/agr/animalhealth/rabies/vaccinationclinics.htm.

To safely transport your pet to the clinic, make sure cats are placed in solid (not cardboard or soft-shell) carriers. Dogs must be at least on a leash. All pets must be held by a person who is over 18 years old.

More details are at the above link.
