Keeping pets safe in the car: L.A. Times

I can’t say this enough. The best way to keep a pet of any size safe while traveling is to use proper restraints. These include carriers appropriate to the size of the pet (ideal for cats) and harness-type devices that hook into the car’s seat belt. Restraints and carriers are available at pet stores and online for a whole range of prices, so there’s no reason not to invest in something that will keep both of you — and other folks on the road — safer.
